ibm food trust
This article describes blockchain. It is also briefly describes IBM’s Blockchain initiative, IBM Food Trust and the IBM Blockchain architecture.
Here, I introduce IBM Food Trust, which is one of the utilizations of IBM’s Blockchain technology. And built on Blockchain, Food Trust leverages vast amounts of stack data to enable you to track from farm to warehouse to kitchen. It also enables producers and consumers to share more secure and verifiable information.
Track mashed potatoes from the Nestlé factory to Carrefour.
Has your holiday dining table food been verified by Blockchain? This system streamlines the supply chain, improves food safety and freshness, and helps consumers source food that they are impressed with.
Was the chicken that laid the egg free range? Has chicken been given antibiotics? Were chicken raised on organic feed? With a system that uses IBM Foot Trust (Blockchain), you can answer such questions instantly. This gives customers who visit restaurants and supermarket customers a trustworthy and safe egg.
Have you tried Chicken of Blockchain? This allows consumers to buy chicken with confidence by checking the date of birth, feed status and packaging date of the livestock. French retail giant Carrefour is selling Chicken of Blockchain.
Where did the good coffee come from? IBM tracks coffee growers to mugs with Blockchain. IBM will also work with start-ups to develop coffee-drinking apps. Other classic holiday foods such as seafood, raw vegetable salads, mashed potatoes, pasta, and apple pies are also protected by Blockchain. In this way, food can also be protected by a sustainable system.
IBM Food Trust is a sustainable food production system that uses Blockchain technology. This technology maintains a collaborative network of crop producers, wholesalers, retailers, carriers and more. Currently, more than 200 companies are members of the FoodTrust.
( Carrefour )
French retail giant Carrefour leverages FoodTrust Blockchain technology, and IBM works with many retailers, logistics companies and producers to track and protect the global supply chain. If you read the QR code attached to the meat and vegetables sold in Carrefour, you can find various information such as growers and livestock companies, date of birth, fertilizers and antibiotics used, storage warehouse, delivery information, etc. In fact, Kafrul is seeing more sales of products that leverage these FoodTrust Blockchains than non-Blockchain foods.
IBM FoodTrust enables tracking with Blockchain. FoodTrust can reduce the risk of waste, food contamination and food poisoning. If there is a problem with the ingredients registered in this blockchain, it can be tracked in seconds and the distribution of the food can be stopped after that.
This FoodTrust can only see information for authorized participants. It also allows participants to set access control to the encrypted Blockchain as they enter data. This allows the trading partner to access only the authorized information. This is a key technology of IBM FoodTrust.
Hyperledger Fabric is a technology that is becoming important in this blockchain network. Hyperledger Fabric is so-called distributed ledger (principal) software, a platform for developing applications or solutions in a modular architecture. This platform includes IBM’s blockchain platform.
